Repetition of a New Year and second antique Italian bottling in a row...
Balmenach 14 yo Sestante 57.5% - stated as 1971 or "early 70-s" vintage.
Nose: need to warm it up and then it opens up. Old cellar, well-bred sherry, balsamico, coffee and citrus. Really good.
Taste: sweet on honey and nuts.
Finish: long and fresh on spices, liquorice and salt (!).
Overall: actually we liked Miltonduff 14 yo Sestante more, though this one is also very good. What I especially liked was reprinted strength of the label, so cute :)
Score: 23 22 23 22, 90/100!
