Hi,
My name is Max, located in Kiev, Ukraine. I'm in loose tea business since 2003 and one of my responsibilities is tasting different tea samples and selecting the ones I consider appropriate. Which is tad similar to whisky tasting as you might guess.
My whisky journey started back in 2007 when I tasted Lagavulin 16 yo. Since that time I have been tasting some nice single malts on quite regular basis. Moreover, I've made 3 whisky-trips to Scotland and eager for a 4-th one. Here I will write about the tastiest whiskies I've tried recently and also refer to my past trips, memories or speculations.
I'm not so interested in reviewing the stuff you might call "ordinary". You'd find tons of it on the web. I'd like to focus instead either on the malts I really enjoyed or some definetely rare vintages. Actually I do it mostly for my own pleasure, though I like to think it might be useful for malt maniacs around the world :)
My background:
- 1500+ single malts tasted
- 50+ Scotland distilleries visited
- member of Ukrainian Whisky Connoisseurs Club since 2008
Favourite distilleries (in no particular order):
- Highland Park
- Bunnahabhain
