Longmorn 20 yo 1992/2013 DL Director's Cut 53.6%

One of the recent facts I discovered about this distillery was one Japanese guy working there on probation in 1919. His name was Masataka Taketsuru and you might have heard something about Nikka distillery.

Another curious thing about Longmorn is relative weakiness of their official releases compared to independent bottlings (esp. the older ones of G&M). Which is strange because Longmorn spirit is one of the most wanted among whisky blenders.

Longmorn 20 yo 1992/2013 DL Director's Cut 53.6% - 20 yo expression from Douglas Laing.

Nose: sweet and fresh, bourbon cask influence is evident (plenty of vanilla here), some malty notes also.

Taste: sweet burst of all kinds of yellow and green fruits.

Finish: long, grassy, malty and fruity, though tad bitter (age influence already?..).

Overall: I like the palate, though the nose and finish lag behind. Nevertheless it's worth trying.

Score: 21 23 21 21, 85/100!
