After falling in love with Clynelish 21 yo Maltbarn distilled in 1995 I decided to have one day a few more Clynelish samples distilled the same year, maybe that is its golden year to be compared with 1972 for Tobermory or 1975 for Benriach?.. 

Grand Maltbarn summer tasting: Ireland 27 yo, Fettercairn 29 yo, Blair Athol 28 yo, Tobermory 22 yo, Inchgower 35 yo, Speyside 43 yo, Paragon very old + bonus: Clynelish 21 yo DT, Glen Garioch 25 yo TWA and Dailuane 31 yo TWA

The tasting took place in hospitable Double Whisky located in Poltava, Ukraine. 

Bunch of samples: Chichibu Wine Wood Reserve, pair of Clynelishes, Higland Park Ice and trio of Taliskers: 20 yo, 25 yo and 30 yo

Exploring sea malts: Clynelish 14 yo TWA, Bowmore 13 yo TWA, Caol Ila 19 yo TWA, Lagavulin 14 yo DD and Laphroaig 15 yo TWA

General theme of this tasting would be sea and its influence on malts.

Now we move from the islands of Scotland to the mainland and take a set of Manager's choice releases.

Trio of dolphins: Bowmore 25 yo 43%, Clynelish 18 yo SV 55.4% and Ledaig 9 yo Potstill 61.9%

Haven't tasted whisky for 3 days so I decided to build evening set of 3 malts with sea influence: Bowmore (Islay), Clynelish (Highland) and Ledaig (Mull). The order would be from the oldest to the youngest sticking to strength growth.

Long delayed tasting of Bowmores finally took place as a celebration of our friend Sergii birthday.

Set of Maltbarns: Clynelish 21 yo, Tullibardine 27 yo and Invergordon 44 yo

This German bottler has already gained very good reputation and we are trying to get all new releases for tasting.
