Black Bull 40 yo Duncan Taylor batch 4 41.9%

A blend with only 10% of grain malt and 90% of well aged malts of at least 40 yo. Why not try it?..

If we read description we'd find that 90% of its contents are malts from Glenlivet, Bunnahabhain, Glen Grant, Tamdhu, Invergordon and Port Dundas distilled between 1965 and 1972. Quite good cocktail.

Black Bull 40 yo Duncan Taylor batch 4 41.9% - initially there is some grain sweetness in the nose which fades aways quickly. Then comes some vanilla, oak, pineapple, pear, citrus and freshness. The taste is not totally oak-driven (thanks to the Master Distiller!), though the wood is obvious. The same fruits on a palate accompanied by honey and some dryness, however strange it might sound. Notes of pepper and spices. The finish is medium-long, complex and fresh with notes of oak, pepper and mint. Quite an active oldie. At first I thought it was quite simple though if you sit with it for a while you'd find some new lovely edges. That's the way the blends should be made. Score = 88/100!
