It's always nice to taste some Brora, do not hesitate to call me anytime :)
Brora 1982/2015 GM Rare Old 46% - always interesting to drink a sample of silent distillery, especially when it's price rockets in the sky and you can't taste it too often.
Nose: farmyard, smoke, wool, apple, hints of salt.
Taste: oily and sharp.
Finish: lo-ong, some grassy bitterness, salt and wax.
Overall: lovely Brora which is quite typical as far as a person with 3 or 4 Broras tasted can say :)
Score: 23 23 23 23, 92/100!
Linkwood 1987/2015 Cadenhead Small batch 58.4% - despite the fact I'm not a big fan of Linkwoods they appear quite often, do they chase me?..
Nose: very austere, lemons, salt and some bread notes. Doesn't sing like Linkwood, I'd go for a Springbank in blind tasting.
Taste: very sharp, lemons and baked fruit cake.
Finish: long and sharp. Seems like you're trying to chew a sword or whatever.
Overall: not a typical Linkwood (please see above Brora excuse), though it's quite well-made malt.
Score: 22 22 22 22, 88/100!
