Not a single reason to reject 20 ml of Springbank 25 yo even if you're driving a car.
Springbank 25 yo 46% (bottled 2014) - said to be a mixture of bourbon and sherry casks married in port pipes for a couple of months.
Nose: complex one with lots of layers changing each other, starts on minerals and fruits (grapes and red berries), then you get salt with whiffs of wax and old damp warehouse, lightest smoke comes after a while. Very good.
Taste: quite spicy (pepper, ginger), lots of berries, leather and earth, spicy cheese and some winey notes.
Finish: medium-long, spicy and salty, touches of earth, oak and brine.
Overall: I have tasted it from half-empty bottle and the guys who sipped it freshly opened agreed it improved a lot over time. Looks like that not only cask strength Springbank needs time after opening :) Interesting Springbank with rich nose but a bit costy (around EUR 500), in terms of price / pleasure ratio I'd recommend most of 12 yo CS batches and Local Barley 1999.
Score = 23 22 21 22, 88/100!
